The existing leadwork had deteriorated significantly over time and had been subject to multiple previous “repairs” using various products such as Chromapol, fiber paint, and bitumen paint. While these products may have been intended as quick fixes, they were not suitable long-term solutions for lead. Instead, they trapped moisture and added stress to the lead, accelerating failure rather than preventing it.As a result, the lead had reached a point where it could no longer perform its intended function, allowing water ingress and posing a risk to the roof structure. Complete replacement with correctly specified Code 5 lead was therefore required to ensure a durable, watertight#Roofing #RoofRescue #LeadWork #Code5Lead #NoMoreLeaks #RoofMaintenance #RoofMembrane #EavesProtection #Bourne #Lincolnshire #LocalRoofer #PropertyCare #HomeImprovement #WaterproofingHeroes #RoofLife ... Continuing on from the earlier issues, we’ve also found that a number of the roof tiles have been cemented into place incorrectly. While cement certainly has its uses, holding random tiles down like they’re trying to escape isn’t really one of them.Roof tiles are designed to be mechanically fixed and to allow rainwater to run freely down the slope. In this case, the cement has been applied in a way that blocks natural drainage and airflow. Instead of helping, it has trapped moisture beneath the tiles — never a good idea on a roof.As a result, the roof membrane underneath has become rotten and decayed in places, along with signs of timber deterioration. Once moisture is sealed in with cement and can’t escape, it doesn’t take long for damage to follow.Cementing tiles in this way also makes future maintenance far more difficult, as repairs can no longer be carried out simply causing further disruption. In short, what may have seemed like a quick fix has unfortunately created longer-term problems that now require proper corrective works.#Roofing#RoofRepair#RoofingContractor#RoofingSpecialist#TileRoof#RoofTiles#PitchedRoof#RoofProblems#WaterIngress#StormDamageRepair #Bourne#BourneBusiness#Lincolnshire#LincolnshireBusiness#LocalRoofer#SupportLocal ...
